Cathy explains, “HR is very rewarding, as you help team members every day with questions, and education. Each day for me is a learning experience. I like all aspects of HR and always enjoy coming to work. Maryland Masonic Homes is very near and dear to my heart, my mother was in a nursing home setting and my brother was a Mason. I am reminded of this every day when I come to work.
I am honored to be a part of the welcome team at MMH.”
Timothy O’Rear, PTA
Rehabilitation Director
Tim graduated from Lincoln University in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in Health Science. He joined Union Memorial Hospital Sports Medicine Outpatient Rehab from 2008-2012 and then graduated from Baltimore Community College in 2012 with a degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Tim brings 10 years of expertise and experience to Maryland Masonic Homes (MMH) including treating PTA, specializing in Geriatrics, and 7 years in a management role. As MMH’s Rehabilitation Director since 2017, Tim leads a highly skilled rehabilitation team who are very knowledgeable in multiple treatment approaches, are well-rounded with all comorbidities, and take the time to build a rapport will all residents.
Tim enjoys working at MMH because of the rich history behind the building and the Masonic order, as well as the family like atmosphere amongst staff and residents. Over the years, Tim has worked in several sub-acute rehab communities and firmly believes MMH is by far the most clean community, with a warm, home feeling environment. Tim notes, “working with the geriatric population is very rewarding as we assist residents with achieving their prior level of function and assist with recommending the safest discharge plans to age in place.”
